What had he done? What had he done? This was a car crash. This was a nightmare, a disaster, a… a… a train wreck. In space. With nitroglycerine. And fire. And death. He almost TOLD her where he lived! Ketz paused. Wait, didn’t he already tell her? Why didn’t he know? Did he? He couldn’t remember. If she didn’t that was fine- no, no,no it was not. She would be walking around his town and get seen with him in front of old neighbours who would ASK who the girl is and TALK about how he still lived there. But she told him where she lived. That was only fair to even the board, r

After Ketz's unexpected visit, and things had finally settled down for the night, Thia sat on her bed alternating between giddy butterflies and dark despair. She wavered between possibly calling him, sure that he was home by now-and being sure he hated her and wanted her to disappear. His face had been so grim after he left. Trying not to see him, and his life, trying to keep her spirit away from him had been surprisingly difficult.
All I want is to be near him, with every fiber of my being. Staying away hurts. Not knowing hurts. I'm not whole without him...
With a great deal of willpower, Thia dr

That was enough drama for one day. It was time to let the rain barrel leak out a bit. Ketz took a quiet hike around the far side of town, far away from anything with the potential to resemble another confrontation. A dull sigh crept past the gates and slipped loose of its own accord, setting the mood. So that girl had a family. They were… well, they were intense as a room full of halogen lights, but at least it was an insight. What really was that, though? Ketz shook his head as he pounded the sidewalk, wandering aimlessly from street to street. If he went to that café Iridethia suggested she would

The moment the doorbell rang, Thia practically threw herself down the stairs calling "It's for me!" heart in her throat with anxiety and excitement. Before anyone else could stop her, she slammed open the door, breathless. Seth and Lester were moments behind her, drawn by curiosity. They peered around her to see who was there.
It was the tall, handsome tiger-kin Nekonikai male, Ketz. He paused. The rush of air and eyes in a storm upon him set him aback. After a hesitant pause he let out an “Uh…” and stared. “Hi.”
Seth put on his most forbidding look, while Lester clung to T

Yet another chapter of life had passed by in the flash of a dream and the scroll of a peppering of clouds. Too much had happened too soon, there were so many things to dwell on. As Ketz trundled down the road and boarded the bus, bag in hand, things slowly mulled over in his brain.
Ketz flashed his ticket and found a seat, stowing his things away. What a three-day jumble that had been. If it wasn’t one thing it was another, or another. Babysitting those kids was more of a handful than could be anticipated. It was fair enough really, after loaning him money to get home and all, but… if those children eve

As the sea breeze and star lily fog swept Thia away, a picturesque scene materialized. A bright sunny day at the beach, blue skies and water as far as the eye could see, and a couple walking hand in hand. The male was an ethereal silver fox kin-silver eyes, hair and fur. A vary rare color combination, and quite fascinating. His partner was beautiful in the way only Siren's were. Smooth pale skin, rich green hair that fell in waves, framing her deep violet eyes, and a seductive smile that spoke of secrets shared. Simply looking at them together, it was obvious to Thia that they were Soul Mates. It wasn't just the silver threads tying them

Another hot summer day broke through the clouds with all the efficiency of a sledgehammer through a carton of eggshells. At least it felt like summer. The would-be sweat that on other any species could have formed in the heat would have been dripping. Fur kind of negated the whole sweat gland thing but luckily people of his persuasion were solar-powered anyway. Ketz stepped off the bus and out into the sweltering heat. Then he groaned and shook off his bag, soaked in sweat. There went those new, clean shirts. That blasted elf in the next seat could have invested in some deodorant.
Ketz stretched until something p

Thia sat on the couch, arms wrapped around her knees. Her baggy gray pants revealed her bare feet, and her violet camisole blended with her cascading loose hair. Shoulders shaking with silent sobs, she wept as if her heart was broken. Lester was still asleep in Thia's room. Seth had walked into the room to tell Thia it was almost snack time, only to find her crying. Hesitantly he crossed over to his sister, and sat next to her. Why was she crying? If he asked her, would it make things worse?
"Uh... Thia? What's wrong?" he asked, gently placing a hand on her shoulder.
Thia looked up at him though the curtain of her hair, eyes red a

Chapter FifteenMemories of the Thorn
The Sun shined brightly over head above the forest canopy. A few beams of light made it through the trees and reached the forest floor. A slight breeze picked up and rustled the trees a little before quieting back down. The chirping birds fluttered from branch to branch. They sung a song of joy and harmony. This was something that Kvigr was trying to find again deep in his Spirit. It was here in this forest where he might find it again.
“Hey there stranger, are you back from that day dream,” asked the blonde woman in white cloth.
Kvigr knew this; he was experiencing a
